Refrigerant dryers are the most common type of drier technology used by many industries. As the name suggests, heat exchangers are used to cool compressed air which will condense the bulk amount of water vapor within the air. Once the compressed air is cooled and water is removed, the air is reheated to around room temperature to ensure no more vapor forms within the pipe system. In the above image from left to right you can see the air compressor, air tank (to store the compressed air), the refrigerant air dryer and the condensate management on the far right to collect the water and oil removed from the compressed air.
